Police seek suspect after stolen auto crashes at Fort Meade
Officers pulled over the unidentified man’s auto near Arundel Mills Boulevard around 8:43 p.m., and he sped off and crashed, police said.
Fort Meade made an immediate announcement, also, that only essential personnel show up for work on Thursday and that base personnel should, like the area residents, remain inside their offices and buildings.

WUSA reports the suspect crashed a stolen auto near an unmanned gate at Fort Meade Wednesday night following a carjacking and police chase in Baltimore.
Police said they have multiple offers searching for the suspect as well as a helicopter checking the surrounding area.

Fort Meade sits between Baltimore and Washington and employs more than 50,000 people, making it one of the biggest employers in the state.
The closed schools include Meade middle and high schools, along with MacArthur Middle School, Manor View Elementary School, Pershing Hill Elementary School and West Meade Early Education Center.
Fort Meade officials posted a message on Facebook asking residents to report suspicious activity.
