Young Jamaican trainer, 8, challenges Usain Bolt to a race
During an appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, Smith shared that his dream is to challenge Usain Bolt in a race. It will be my last Olympics.
Bolt, 29, has confirmed he is likely to retire following the 2017 World Championships in London, and Thompson insists the sport owes him a huge debt of gratitude. A few people say I should try acting but I think I will stay in sport and figure out what I can do’.
At the recent World Championships in Beijing, Bolt won gold in the 100m, 200m and 4x100m relay.
Six-time Olympic gold medalist Bolt, who can run up to an incredible 28mph, revealed he was instructed to take up athletics by his former coach. When I see that other kids bully them, that’s why I started exercising. “I was a fast bowler and then he (McNeil) said I should try track and field so I decided why not and I did it”, Bolt remembered.
Ellen DeGeneres sat with the future fitness guru and asked him when he started taking exercise so seriously, only to learn his love for dips, and push ups began, well, when he turned 8.
Bolt made the announcement to his 1.8 million followers on Instagram when he posted a pic of himself standing in front the entrance of the studio where the show is recorded.
