Carly Fiorina Makes No Secret of What She Thinks of ‘Liberal Women’
Fiorina’s Republican presidential campaign has served as a whirlwind political education for the 22-year-old, who graduated from Northwestern University in the spring.
The video she likely is referring to is a montage of information, narrative and supporting videos of a type similar to those often seen in an investigative report on a local news television station. As the field’s only woman now has the spotlight she wanted, her campaign is turning the sharper scrutiny by the media and her rivals into a badge of honor. Flores wrote in an email. “Candidates will paint a target on Carly”.
The most iconic example, of course, is Phyllis Schlafly, an ambitious woman who built a career telling other women that their ambition was unfeminine and their place was in the home.
Meanwhile, Trump continues to lead the Republican field in Iowa and New Hampshire, but his lead is shrinking.
Fiorina doesn’t mention in her rags-to-riches tale that she worked briefly as secretary for a real estate company – a noble occupation, to be sure – during one summer when she was a student at Stanford and her father was dean of Duke’s law school.
The people down there now, these people who themselves were once down there insist, don’t want to work. He has also said, “You have to stand for something, you have to fight for something, and people need to know what that is.”…
Fiorina, when asked about the article Monday, dismissed it. “You know I don’t think the Washington Post has much credibility anymore”, she told reporters.
Fiorina has crept up to that line before without crossing it, inviting her crowds to support her because she knows they’d just love to see her debate Clinton.
And then, in true right wing demagogue fashion, she switched immediately to whining.
NARRATOR OF BOXER AD [in 10/2010]: She laid off 30,000 workers.
Clinton has campaigned tirelessly, if sometimes stiffly, about race. Sanders trails Bush and Fiorina by just 2 and 3 points, respectively, and leads Trump by 5 points. There’s this notion that candidates are not one of us, or ‘How can they relate to our everyday challenges, the kinds of thing s we have to do to make ends meet?’ ” Making oneself appear to be from a hardscrabble background is meant to dispel that notion, he said.
Fiorina: “Remember when we learned to our horror that veterans had died before they ever received an appointment?”
While Trump has been leading the polls for the Republican Party for the past few weeks, many do not believe he will be there for much longer. “There’s quite a bit of misinformation out there and candidates can play to that”.
Fiorina impressed viewers with her sophisticated debate skills in the second GOP debate, yet her lies seemingly went amiss during her smooth performance. She is ahead. In this context, it is fair to say that she is now winning.
That’s brutal. It is noteworthy that President Obama is just about as unpopular in Iowa, at 38%/55%/8%. She said “coal provides half the energy in this nation still”, yet actually it’s about 20 percent. “The next day!” she said. It’s not unusual to take a while to settle up, took Mitt Romney three years, John Kerry almost two, Newt Gingrich still owes money, but it’s Fiorina now lighting up the polls, facing a more tense spotlight about her failed 2010 Senate run.
Fiorina, the lowest polling candidate at the gathering, impressed the big money attendees with her mastery of policy detail and heavyweight stage presence.
