As Bush campaigns, Florida struggles with his schools legacy
“He can’t walk, and has a neck brace on when you see him on TV-because I know he’ll be at the ‘Stros game-because he fell and fractured his vertebrae”, Bush continued. “I noticed he’s not watching “CSI” re-runs any more”. “I don’t believe the people who talk about it, who sit on the back bench and talk about things all the time and go one the talk shows, are necessarily the ones who can do it”, he said in a not-so-veiled shot at less politically experienced candidates like Trump, Marco Rubio, and Ted Cruz.
Republican presidential candidate Jeb Bush says the nation’s problems will never get solved unless there’s a culture change in Washington – and to create that culture, Bush suggests style matters.
Saying his father is “strong as a goat”, Bush said his campaign is contributing to his father’s wellbeing. In July, Bush said he first started noticing that his dad was improving when he started telling “semi-dirty jokes” to the nurses, and later in August, when his mom started letting the former president have dry martinis again.
On his longest campaign trip to Iowa, Bush told coffee shop crowds in Oskaloosa and Muscatine on Wednesday and a dinner in Davenport on Tuesday that if elected in November 2016, he would “disrupt the old order” in Washington.
“I feel like I’m participating in this a little bit because my candidacy has lifted his spirits”, Bush said.
“I’m happy I got my mother’s support”, he added. Laura’s helping. My wife has done a lot. “That was huge. That was a big first step”. My children are helping.
