ABC College Football Week 6 Odds & Spread: Georgia Tech vs. Clemson
Georgia Tech PreviewGeorgia Tech came in to 2015 with high expectations based mostly off of last yr’s 11-Three season in that included wins over Clemson, Georgia & Mississippi State within the Orange Bowl. North Carolina won 38-31.
The Yellow Jackets now find themselves at 2-3 on the year and 0-2 in the ACC. Projected this preseason to be the class of the ACC Coastal, the Ramblin’ Wreck has a two game hole they must dig themselves out of in the division.
Clemson’s stirring victory over Notre Dame last week has bolstered the sixth-ranked Tigers’ ACC and playoff hopes heading into the heart of their schedule, starting Saturday at home against struggling Georgia Tech. Georgia Tech leads the ACC in scoring (41.4 points), but has averaged only 24.3 points during its losing streak.2. As a matter of fact, the Tigers now control their own destiny into the College Football Playoff as all they have to do now is win.
Clemson is coming off a win this past weekend against Notre Dame that ended being a closer game.
This is “do or die” for Georgia Tech. Paul Johnson will pull out all the stops for this game and will do whatever it takes for his team to win. The game will be close, and the outcome will be determined in the fourth quarter.
For Clemson to win this game, they have to be disciplined and stay focus on defense against a triple option offense. Quarterback Deshaun Watson and running back Wayne Gallman lead an offense averaging 33.5 points, and the Tigers have shown resolve in beating Louisville and Notre Dame by a combined five points in their past two games. This will challenge Clemson’s philosophy on the defensive game.
