Arsenal fined and warned by the FA
The FA have fined Chelsea and Arsenal, and warned both clubs about their future conduct, following their recent clash at Stamford Bridge.
Both teams were involved in a fracas just before halftime and Arsenal finished with nine men having had Brazilian defender Gabriel and Spanish midfielder Santi Cazorla sent off.
Costa was booked during the match but later given a three-match ban for his role in an incident with Laurent Koscielny.
Now both clubs have received punishment from the FA for failing to control their players.
Chelsea were handed a £40,000 fine, while Arsenal got a £30,000 fine.
Gabriel had the red card overturned on appeal, but Costa was retrospectively banned for three matches for violent conduct.
It was then that Gabriel kicked out at Costa, and was sent off by Dean, but the FA subsequently rescinded the red card after an Arsenal appeal and chose to punish Costa for the earlier incident.
The FA have charged Chelsea and Arsenal a combined total of £70,000 for “for failing to ensure their players conducted themselves in an orderly fashion” during the Premier League meeting between the two sides at Stamford Bridge last month.
Chelsea won the game 2-0 through Kurt Zouma and Eden Hazard’s deflected strike.
“The Independent Regulatory Commission considered the previous disciplinary records of both clubs in reaching its decision on sanction”.
