Villa bid for Bury defender
The 17-year-old has yet to turn out for Bury in the league, but caught the attention in their Capital One Cup clash with Leicester City in August. The Toffees, in particular, have recently helped John Stones, who they purchased from Barnsley two seasons ago, become an England worldwide since moving to the club.
In quotes carried by the Manchester Evening News from his post game press conference, Flicker said that the late one nil defeat – with them scoring inside of the final ten minutes of the game – obviously left a sour taste.
The hosts were marginally the better team during a first half of few chances and half time arrived scoreless. We had a game-plan to be quite offensive and tried to attack them but the end product wasn’t good enough’. He makes his passes and is fearless in everything he does, and I love that.
Everton, Aston Villa and Derby County are all reportedly keeping tabs on Bury youngster Matty Foulds. With the player out of the matchday squads recently, it appears Bury are close to reaching an agreement with an unnamed team.
Could Foulds handle the step-up to the Premier League?
The Shakers have received a bid for Foulds from what is believed to be a Championship club, with the deal being a loan move leading to a permanent switch.
“It’s been bubbling along for a week now and a few fantastic football clubs want his services. I didn’t want the game possibly upsetting that so we took a business decision not to play Matty”.
Whether or not it is one of those clubs that made the bid remains to be seen, but there’s no doubt that Bury’s resolve will be tested in the coming weeks from growing interest.
Aston Villa have tabled a bid for young Bury defender Matty Foulds, according to sources for ESPN, but he looks set to go elsewhere.
