Guillermo Del Toro wants Game of Thrones star for Pacific Rim 2
To help commemorate the occasion, Austin-based Mondo Designs is collaborating with Drafthouse to offer a limited-edition Crimson Peak pint glass, featuring an original design by Guy Davis. “Hellboy”, “Cronos”, and “Mimic” put del Toro on the map, but it was his 2006 anti-fairy tale “Pan’s Labyrinth” that catapulted the innovator the most critical acclaim.
With Guillermo del Toro’s Crimson Peak arriving next week, marking his return to R-rated, fright-filled fun, there’s been many conversation as to what his finest achievement is. (Click on the media bar below to hear Jessica Chastain).
Although the development of “Pacific Rim 2” has been frozen as of the moment and no one really knows about its status, the talk about a forthcoming “Pacific Rim” sequel is still on the process with Del Torro dropping hints of a few dream casts.
It’s been a very busy year already for Academy Award nominated actress Jessica Chastain. Between desire and darkness, between mystery and madness, lies the truth behind Crimson Peak… a house that breathes, bleeds, and remembers. Creating a universe amidst the aftermath of the Spanish Civil War (his second film with this setting, the other being “The Devil’s Backbone”) del Toro explores the real-life and fantasy worlds of young Ofelia (Ivana Baquero). It is always exciting when a del Toro movie is on the horizon and I can not wait to see what he has in store for us this time around.
Crimson Peak will premiere in theaters October. 16, 2015, so be sure to get those Alamo Drafthouse reservations in quick if you want that glass.
