Terminal cancer patient gets married from his hospital bed
It is both an emotional and the most touching wedding story you will watch and read today.
Keith Borum and Nina Scott were married yesterday at the Good Samaritan Hospital in West Islip, New York.
The man told the hospital staff that he had hoped to buy an engagement ring for Nina, who has been his girlfriend for three years. However, physicians treating him recently told that his cancer is terminal.
18-months of hard-fought battles deserves a moment of happiness.
The couple was positively beaming after the ceremony when they finally were able to seal the deal with a very special kiss.
The couple who were together for 3 years, wore the protective medical gowns over the wedding outfits to afford protection to Borum against possible infection.
Nurses and family members dressed in hospital gowns packed Borum’s room to witness a memorable celebration of true love. Although it was an unusual setting for a wedding, the bride said it was flawless to be married to his beloved. Speaking to ABC News, she explained the emotions of the day. “I don’t know what my favorite moment was”, said Nina Borum. Nina said that it was difficult for her to imagine how great it would or could be. “We just worked together, put this whole thing together for them just so they can have something to remember before he passed” said a teary eyed Christina Ware, a Good Samaritan Hospital nurse. Notwithstanding this, when asked how he felt today, he replied that it was great and one of the best days in his life. “He’s really hard…It’s just sunk his spirit”.
On his wedding day, he was all smiles.
On this wedding day Keith Borum had been able to lighten the mood by stealing his new wife’s pair of sunglasses and putting them on. It’s easy to become jaded in the face of the daily stress. Since he wasn’t in the position to do anything alone, the hospital staff had to give him a hand.
In the end, despite a devastating illness, you have a happy couple.
