Street Fighter V’s Official Laura Trailer Released, Second Beta Dated for
Last week, Famitsu leaked images of Laura, the new, original character coming to Capcom‘s Street Fighter V.
Laura is also credited with being a “Brazilian master of Mitsuda jiu-jitsu”, a form of martial art used to defend while in close combat with a fighting opponent.
Laura Matsuda will be able to use a projectile, a first for a grappling-focused character, allowing her to pose a threat at a distance. Her Critical Arts has her bouncing around the arena in a lightning ball with the opponent in a headlock, possibly a reference to Street Fighter mainstay Blanka, who also hails from Brazil.
Gamers will once again be able to try out the core mechanics of the fighting game, with Capcom saying that it wants to mainly test the way the title handles cross-platform play.
Many game fans were surprised of the sudden announcement of the character, but “Street Fighter” Yoshinori Ono has revealed several things on how he felt about Laura.
Additionally, Capcom has released information on the second Street Fighter V global beta, which will start on October 22nd and end on October 25th. Sakura’s rival Karin will be added on day three (Oct.24).
Street Fighter V is due out for PlayStation 4 and PC in spring 2016.
