Disney alters film release schedule, launch dates set for “Incredibles 2”
Prepare to launch a complaint with star command.
Most excitingly, The Incredibles 2 now has a firm slot, landing in June of 2019 and followed by yet another live-action untitled Disney Fairy Tale in November – wonder if one of those will be the long-gestating Enchanted sequel?
June 15, 2018 is the date we can expect the movie to hit USA theaters and even though it might seem a bit far away it is still sooo exciting.
On Thursday, Pixar announced the The Incredibles 2 – written and directed by Brad Bird again – would hit theaters on June 21, 2019.
The studio also announced three untitled Pixar Animations films for 2020.
Finding Dory, the follow-up for 2003’s Finding Nemo, will complete the Pixar month-of-June stranglehold with a June 17, 2016 release date. However, with Disney being Disney, not much about the plot of the upcoming movie has been released and as such, fans have been letting their imaginations run wild, concocting their own version of what could be “The Incredibles 2″.
Following that, in December is a live-action untitled Disney Fairy Tale movie before we head into 2018 with Marvel’s Black Panther, which as you may have read here is now opening in February of that year. “We are convinced that Canal+ subscribers will be able to fully benefit from an ever greater variety of the most compelling characters and captivating and moving stories from Disney where, when and how they want, across a unique catalogue of films and TV series”, said Astrid Barbot, CEO of Disney Media Distribution France.
CanalPlay, Canal’s SVOD service, will continue to carry programming from Disney-owned ABC Studios on demand titles, which includes Grey’s Anatomy, Lost, Desperate Housewives and Castle. 22, 2017, Pixar function is now referred to as “Coco”.
Produced for an estimated $92 million, “The Incredibles” grossed $631 million worldwide.
