Hero from France train attack stabbed multiple times
Airman First Class Spencer Stone is in stable condition in an area hospital, said the Air Force.
Spencer Stone was stabbed multiple times in the torso, said US Air Force spokesperson. He is said to be in a stable condition.
He has been transported to a local hospital and is now being treated for his injuries.
A suspect has yet to be publicly named by authorities.
Homicide detectives were called to the scene, the station reported, adding that a man and a woman were questioned in the attack. The Bee said he was stabbed multiple times. Reuters could not immediately reach Sacramento police for comment.
The American fighter sprung into action when he and his friends heard what sounded like a man loading an automatic weapon.
Fearless… Spencer Stone spent time at the White House with President Barack Obama, who lauded his courage.
However now it appears Mr Stone – who was recovering from having his hand severed in the Paris train struggle – will pull through. He was slashed by a box cutter and required extensive surgery on his thumb.
His celebrity comes from an event in August when Stone and two others, National Guardsman Alek Skarlatos and Anthony Sadler, were aboard a train running from Amsterdam to Paris.
Skarlatos, 22, also had a near miss last week as he had been due to attend the college in Oregon where a gunman went on a rampage, killing nine people and injuring nine others.
Skarlatos, who is rehearsing for ABC’s “Dancing with the Stars”, tweeted in support of Stone Thursday: “Everybody send prayers out to the stone family today”. Prior to that meeting, President Francois Holland awarded them with France’s highest honor. “More specifically, Skarlatos said he was supposed to be present that day in Snyder Hall, the same building where Harper-Mercer carried out his massacre”.
