Rupert Murdoch backs anti-gay Republican, implies Obama not ‘real black president’
So, it’s a little amusing that the media is outraged by media mogul Rupert Murdoch’s Tweet concerning GOP presidential candidate Ben Carson.
The incendiary tweet from Murdoch came as Carson has been in the hot seat for his own controversial comments.
On Wednesday, the 84-year-old infuriated Twitter users by writing: “Ben and Candy Carson terrific. And much else”, tweeted Murdoch.
“Rupert Murdoch, brah, if ur concerned about bridging the racial divide, how ’bout pulling the plug on that new-fangled Klan rally, Fox News?” asked actor Jeffrey Wright. He’s not a racist by any stretch of the imagination.
Do you believe that this was an innocent misunderstanding, and people should just accept Rupert Murdoch’s apology for his tweet?
There’s nothing new about a public figure questioning U.S. president Barack Obama’s citizenship-his political rivals and voters alike have done that since he first entered national politics. “Personally find both men charming”.
Angry commenters have taken to Twitter to rip Murdoch’s racial remarks.
Last week he wrote, “Everywhere pundits keep underestimating Ben Carson”.
News Corp and 21st Century Fox, firms which Murdoch chairs and co-chairs respectively, did not immediately respond to request for comment early Thursday.
He added that the elderly media baron’s Fox News Channel has been “an enemy of African-American struggles since it started”.
In the months that followed, Carson described Obamacare as “worse than slavery” a few times.
“Irreproachable on background, achievements, character, vision”, Murdoch said of Carson.
“I do believe that”, Carson said. Soon Murdoch was trending on Twitter with speculation about what exactly he meant by a real black president? But what’s telling is what conservatives and others don’t say about why they like Carson.
