Members of the Assyrian Gozarto Protection Forces in Hasakeh, north-east Syria, where Isis took 253 Assyrian Christians captive in an initial offensive early this year.
Islamic State militants, ISIS have reportedly killed three Christian hostages that have been in their custody since February and are threatening to kill 200 more if the ransom of $100,000 per prisoner is not paid.
In the ISIS video, the three Assyrian Christian men died after being shot behind the head.
The Assyrian Human Rights Network also backed the British group’s report and said ISIS militants killed the three Christian men two weeks ago.
As the Guardian observes, the ISIS rampage “has effectively ended centuries of coexistence between Muslims and Christians in Syria and Iraq”, driving thousands of Chaldean and Assyrian Christians from their homes, while subjugating others and forcing them to pay the traditional jizya tax imposed by Muslim conquerors on captive populations. We plea and beg of the global community to intervene immediately.
“This terrorist crime is a stigma on the forehead of the worldwide community, which has failed so far to eliminate terrorism and tyranny in this war-torn country”.
