Jerry Jones on Greg Hardy’s ‘guns blazing’ remark: ‘Oh my goodness’

Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones had a chance to set the record straight when answering questions about Greg Hardy’s comments, but instead he decided to make things worse. In true Brady fashion, he said his focus is on the field and not on the headlines the opposition is creating. On Wednesday, fans got to hear from Tom Brady on Greg Hardy. Browns general manager Ray Farmer can return to his team after he was banished for using a cell phone to communicate with the sideline during a game last season. He said he selects other players for the Pro Bowl based on how hot their wives are. He’s here to play football and not because anyone believes he’s a great citizen. “But the scheme is different and a few of the things that he does are a little different, and we can see a few of those in preseason”. “Probably like everybody, we’re all a work in progress, so we’re trying to be the right kind of guy each and every day of our lives”, Garrett said. They count on getting pressure from their front four getting to the quarterback, so I don’t really care about his personal feelings…

But New England faced Hardy in 2013, when Hardy sacked Brady once in the first quarter of Carolina’s 24-20 victory. The charges were ultimately dropped when his accuser didn’t show up for subsequent court dates, but Hardy still had to sit out the first four games of this season. They do great things in their communities. But it’s a valid concern, and one Jones should be taking more seriously.

Hardy has played in just one National Football League game since the end of the 2013 season.

When it comes to Hardy, he initially was given a 10-game suspension for conduct detrimental to the league. On Tuesday, he vowed he would come out with “guns blazing,” which a few read as a thinly veiled reference to the domestic violence incident involving an ex-girlfriend previous year that earned him the suspension. That’s because Hardy, who in July 2014 was found guilty of assaulting his ex-girlfriend and threatening to kill her, was benched by the Panthers and later placed on the NFL’s Exempt/Commissioner’s Permission List.

Though, part of me wonders why there’s so much ado about what Hardy said regarding Brady’s wife.

Belichick said Wednesday morning he has been “really impressed” watching the Cowboys, who have lost two straight to fall to 2-2. He participated in the off-season program and training camp and played in three of the four preseason games.
