Lee Erwin leaves Leeds for Bury on loan
Brought to Leeds as a “development” project, the ex-Motherwell striker has been scoring for the Under-21 Development Squad – this prompting a move to League One Bury on a month’s loan.
Erwin is way down in the pecking order at Elland Road, with Chris Wood and Mirco Antenucci ahead of him in the race for the coveted striker spot at Leeds United.
He’s yet to make his debut for Leeds, and during his time with us he’s been handed the No 18 shirt.
Erwin had been open to making a move away from the Whites to get a few more game time. However, he is yet to get a chance in the Championship so far this season despite producing magnificent performances for Leeds United junior team.
“After getting first-team football a year ago, it’s a lot better than playing Under-21 football”.
HITC Sport understands a host of League One clubs had come in for the Scottish youth global and now Bury have emerged as winners for his signature.
Shakers boss David Flitcroft could give Erwin a debut in Saturday’s visit of Wigan Athletic.
