Julianne Moore, John Stamos Act in Taylor Swift Soap Opera on ‘Corden’
With Julianne in a shimmering purple night gown, James in a black leather jacket and black greaser wig, and John in a tweed, college professor coat, all the best soap opera tropes are handled masterfully. Welcome to your new favorite show “The Bold and the Lyrical”. The pair spat with lines from “Blank Space”, “You Belong With Me”, and “I Knew You Were Trouble”, and Corden later tries to flex his bad boy status with “Darling, I’m a nightmare dressed like a daydream”.
“The Bold and the Lyrical” told the story of Juliette Moore, a woman who “gets drunk on jealousy” and James Cordone who “keeps cursing, can’t stop and won’t stop”. “Cause I’m only up when you’re knocked down”.
Moore gets to grips with the lyrics, despite making a small mistake and mistaking Adele for Swift in the clip. Fortunately, John Stamos – playing “John Stamosa”, another one of Moore’s former flames – arrives, offering condolences and a night of dressing up like hipsters, making fun of ex’s and feeling 22. Stamos enters 2/3 of the way through the dispute, as another man on Moore’s “long list of ex lovers [who’ll] tell you [she’s] insane”.
Handsome: The Full House star ends the sketch by taking off his specs and saying with a wink to the camera: “Grab your passport and my hand”.
The sketch ended with all three speaking the lyrics to Swift’s hit “22”.
