RL Stine’s ‘Fear Street’ Books Scare Up a Movie
I don’t quite know what the “bumps gonna goose ya” means, but Jack Black’s new pop-rap music video, created specially for the upcoming Goosebumps movie, is pretty fun. “In a insane night of adventure, it’s up to Zach, Hannah, Champ, and Stine to team up and get all of these figments of Stine’s imagination – including Slappy the Dummy, the girl with the haunted mask, the gnomes and many more – back in the books where they belong to save the town”. Now TheWrap reports that 20th Century Fox and Chernin Entertainment are developing a movie based on Stine’s Fear Street books.
Fear Street would seemingly be tooled as a project for horror lovers, and considering the series focus on teens being confronted by horror and terrors of all sorts, inside and outside of high school, there could be a few futile ground to both comment and celebrate the genre.
The Fear Street stories take place in Shadyside, Ohio and star average teenagers.
The Wrap, who broke the news, confirmed with Stine that something is in the works, however he was not at liberty to divulge any further details.
While a Goosebumps movie has been rumored since the “90s, one can see the potential difficulties of adapting the books”.
