Disney/Pixar Sets ‘Incredibles 2’ for 2019, ‘Toy Story 4’ Delayed to 2018
Elsewhere on the Pixar slate, Toy Story 4, once set to hit cinemas on the 16th June 2017, has slipped back to the 15th June 2018. Finding Dory, the follow-up for 2003’s Finding Nemo, will complete the Pixar month-of-June stranglehold with a June 17, 2016 release date.
In its announcement, Disney also outlined its release schedule for upcoming films in the coming years. Disney declined to reveal anything about the film’s plot, nor who is writing or directing the project, though the rapidly-approaching 2017 release date suggests that a few behind-the-scenes creative work has already begun. Another live-action untitled Disney Fairy Tale dawns on March 29, with a DisneyToon Studios (the people behind Planes) release set for April. Not to mention, John Lasseter’s last directorial effort was the first “bad” Pixar film and that certainly didn’t thrill people either.
Disney certainly knows exactly what those movies will be, but for now it’s anyone’s guess.
In celebrating crossing $four billion on the worldwide field workplace, Disney has made numerous modifications and additions to its launch calendar, cementing its live-action fairy story empire and setting the course for Marvel Studios, Pixar and Disney Animation Studios via 2020.
