Hillary Clinton’s Wall Street Platform Is Coming Next Week
Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton is out with a new campaign ad taking advantage of House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy’s (R-Calif.) much-criticized comment in which he said that the point of the Republican-led Benghazi committee was to sink Clinton’s presidential bid.
Meanwhile, Former Hewlett-Packard CEO Carly Fiorina says the government should focus on enforcing laws that are already in place before jumping to add new ones.
Sanders has changed his positions over time.
During an appearance at a campaign town hall, Clinton veered between sadness and anger, accusing her Republican opponents of “surrender” to a hard political problem.
“By selectively leaking” parts of the transcript from Mills’ daylong interview last month, “Democrats have shown their nakedly political motivation, willingness to violate the letter and spirit of House rules and their desire to defend Secretary Clinton without regard for the integrity of the investigation”, Gowdy’s spokesman, Jamal Ware, said. As a senator, Clinton opposed the measure while Sanders supported it in the House. Clinton asked the audience at the New Hampshire community college, which she said was similar to the Oregon campus. She has also been highly critical of the NRA’s chokehold on Congress, and said if legislation could not be passed, she would use executive orders to fulfill her agenda. But Monday he did outline a few more specifics of what he believes on gun control.
The site mentioned that in 2013, President Obama had a similar plan to “expand background checks”.
“This is an issue that plays very differently in Vermont than it does in Brooklyn”, Walter said.
Clinton proposed repealing legislation that shields gun manufacturers, distributors and dealers of firearms from most liability suits, including in cases of mass shootings. The plan would extend checks to online sales and gun shows. “We need universal background checks”.
“What I would love to see, is gun owners, responsible gun owners… form a different organisation and take the Second Amendment (of the US Constitution) back from extremists,”she said”.
McCarthy’s remarks have proved a source of frustration even for his fellow Republicans. “It can not be this easy for somebody who wants to inflict harm on other people to get his or her hands on a gun”, he declared. Under current law, people convicted of misdemeanor domestic violence are blocked from buying guns-but only if they are married to, live with, or have children with their victims.
If Congress won’t act Clinton “will take administrative action to require that any person attempting to sell a significant number of guns be deemed “in the business” of selling firearms”, a Clinton aide told CNN, meaning they will fall under background check laws.
