Agent: Arsenal failed in loan move for Dynamo Moscow striker Kokorin
Dynamo Moscow boss Andrey Kolebev confirmed that Arsenal did make a late-move for striker Aleksandr Kokorin but it was rejected, as a loan was not enough.
Kobelev claims he had a say in rejecting the loan bid, but hinted that Arsenal may have been more successful had they attempted to sign the Russian Federation worldwide on a permanent deal.
Kokorin has recently been linked with a move to Zenit St Petersburg, with former Tottenham and Chelsea manager Andre Villas-Boas said to be an admirer of the 24-year-old, and Arsenal may face stiff competiton from the Russian champions should they lodge a bid in the next transfer window.
Arsenal fans in the Transfer Tavern have apologised to Arsene Wenger after it emerged the Gunners boss HAD tried to sign a striker on transfer Deadline Day.
“We vetoed a loan”.
“The point is that if a club pays good money for you, you are given time for adaptation”.
“Kokorin deserves to play at a decent club, and he has to move there as a fully developed player who can deliver results”.
“Aleksandr still has the chance to move in future, and not just to Arsenal”, Loginov was quoted as saying by Russian outlet Sovsport.
“If Dinamo refused to give Aleksandr to Arsenal in the past transfer window, it does not mean that he can’t be where he wants [in the next window]”.
“What I know is that I’m happy at Vigo”.
“There was an offer, it was reviewed and refused. He has very good relations with the Dinamo coaching staff and management, and naturally was updated about everything”.
Arsenal also have Olivier Giroud at their disposal but, despite the fact that he has scored a few important goals for the club, the French forward is yet to prove that he is capable of performing effectively on a consistent basis.
