For Arizona, the season could not have started better. On the heels of a 5-1 thrashing at the hands of the San Jose Sharks on opening night, they once again played poorly defensively and could not produce consistent scoring chances.

A solid road game in the 2 period. He made a picture flawless to Oliver Ekman-Larsson from the left board and OEL one-timed it by a startled Jonathan Quick, who did not have a very good game.
NOTES: The Coyotes will play their first home game Saturday night against Pittsburgh before returning to Southern California to face Anaheim on Wednesday night.
