Israeli stabs four Arabs ‘in revenge attack’
A Palestinian was also shot dead by Israeli security forces when clashes broke out in east Jerusalem as they went to search the home of one of the alleged attackers. Ten Israelis have been stabbed in the recent violence and four have been killed.
It follows a string of seemingly random attacks on Israeli soldiers and citizens by Palestinians that have taken place over the past few weeks.
According to reports, five Palestinians were injured during clashes at a checkpoint, south of the West Bank city of Nablus, while seven others sustained injuries in similar skirmishes in Bethlehem, south of al-Quds (Jerusalem).
The demonstrators had gathered to show their support for Palestinians living under Israeli occupation in the West Bank and Jerusalem, where a wave of violence has occurred over the past several days.
And the violence has spread beyond Jerusalem and the West Bank, the historical hot spots.
Many are asking if this violence could be a third intifada Palestinian uprising.
In Tel Aviv, a female Israeli soldier was stabbed with a screwdriver, allegedly by a Palestinian.
On Friday, six Palestinians, including a 15-year-old boy, were killed by Israeli security during two riots near Israel’s border with Gaza and in one stabbing near Hebron.
Muhannad Halabi, a 19-year-old law student who fatally stabbed two Orthodox Jews on Saturday in Jerusalem’s Old City, wrote a Facebook post the previous day condemning Israeli measures at the Al-Aqsa mosque compound.
In a televised speech, Netanyahu asked Jewish and Arab political leaders to steer clear of the site Jews call the Temple Mount and Muslims the Noble Sanctuary for fear that any visits could spark an “explosive” event.
“Those who wish to turn the tragedy between us, Palestinians and Israel… into a religious war have blood on their hands”, Rivlin told journalists.

Less than an hour earlier, a Palestinian used a vegetable peeler to stab and injure a 14-year-old Israeli in Jerusalem before he was arrested, police said.

There has also been a string of attacks by Israeli settlers on Palestinians living in the West Bank. Police said the assailant was arrested at the scene.
The stabbings have dee-ply unnerved Israelis and authorities have stru-ggled to prevent them, with the suspects often young Palestinians believ-ed to be acting on their own.
Prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu “strongly condemned the harming of innocent Arabs”.
On Friday, at least three incidents of stone throwing were reported in Israel’s north, including in Nazareth Illit, a Jewish city adjacent to the Arab city of Nazareth, where unidentified individuals targeted passing cars.
