Lions LB Levy to make season debut
Levy missed the first four games of the season with a hip injury that he suffered on August 24.
Stafford wore all blue cleats during the game while most other players wore shoes with a color scheme with a few combination of black, white and pink.
DeAndre Levy will make his 2015 season debut on Sunday against the Arizona Cardinals.
By naming Levy a game captain, Lions coach Jim Caldwell indicated Levy is healthy enough to play.
He would not say if Levy will play his usual number of snaps. So hes been a lot of help in that regard, Caldwell said. Anytime that you have a guy that makes double-digit tackles for you consistently, thats going to add something to your overall production.
The Detroit Lions quarterback said they are the same cleats that former teammates Ndamukong Suh and Reggie Bush wore last season. He also led the National Football League in solo tackles last season with 117.
Levy, 28, only began practicing last week.
“We all know he’s a Pro Bowl caliber kind of player”, defensive end Ziggy Ansah said.
With Levy coming back, it could be the lift that the Lions need to get even close to being a dominant defense again.
“Thing about our structure on defense is that we still have packages that we use, so he will still get his playing time as well”, Caldwell said.
The Lions are 0-4 entering Sunday, the last winless team in the league, and struggled covering the middle of the field the first two weeks of the season against San Diego and Minnesota.
