Earlier in the day, the prime minister presided over a meeting in Lahore in which he was briefed about the development projects including Orange Line train and metro bus services launched by the present government.
He said projects in the past have been plagued with kickbacks and for the first time there was an opportunity to complete a project at half the price of the NEPRA tariff. He said that various power projects like Bhasha Dam and Dasu Dam will generate 9,000 mega watts of electricity after completion.
Vice chairman PTI Shah Mehmood Qureshi said government has come down to adopt cheap tactics to rig re-election in Lahore.
“We are setting a new precedent in the country by saving national funds in all the projects”.
