NYCC: “Agent Carter” Casts Madame Masque, Brings Back Dominic Cooper

“The Newsroom” alum Wynn Everett also joins the show as inventor/Hollywood actress Whitney Frost.

“Marvel’s Agent Carter” is exec produced by Tara Butters, Michele Fazekas, Christopher Markus, Stephen McFeely, Chris Dingess, Kevin Feige, Louis D’Esposito, Alan Fine, Joe Quesada, Stan Lee and Jeph Loeb.

Several cast members were announced for the upcoming second season of Marvel’s Agent Carter at New York Comic-Con. “Inspired by Hollywood icons like Hedy Lamarr and Lauren Bacall, we knew we needed an actor who was classically glamorous and fiercely intelligent”. Austin is Jason Wilkes, a quirky yet charismatic scientist who instantly charms Peggy.

Agent Carter Season 2 will premiere during the television midseason on ABC. “He brings a grounded, human quality to Calvin Chadwick, a complex character who lives at the center of Season 2’s intrigue”.

Following her appearance in Captain America: The First Avenger, Hayley Atwell’s Agent Carter became a fan-favourite character who would go on to star in her own One-Shot and make appearances in Ant-Man and Captain America: The Winter Soldier.

“We were impressed by Reggie as soon as we met with him”, Loeb said in the release. “He has a unique ability to be handsome and charming while also being extremely accessible”. Season 2 is set in 1947 (i.e. the same year as the Black Dahlia murder) and sees our heroine heading to Tinseltown on a special mission from the SSR.

Fortunately for “Agent Carter” fans, Stark isn’t the only character who will grace the Los Angeles stage when Peggy comes to town.

Immediately following the clip, Loeb confirmed that Dominic Cooper will reprise his role as Howard Stark in the second season despite being the lead character in AMC’s new Preacher series.

Everett will play actress and inventor Whitney Frost, better known as the Marvel Comics supervillain Madame Masque, while Verbeek will portray Ana Jarvis, the free-spirited wife of Edwin Jarvis (James D’Arcy), who befriends Peggy, and helps her adjust to life in Los Angeles.
