23 dead, 19 injured in military barracks collapse in Russia
The collapse of a military barracks in Russian Federation has killed 13 people, the Tass news agency reported Monday, citing the country’s Defense Ministry.
The cause of the collapse was not immediately clear, but shoddy construction and safety violations frequently lead to accidents in Russian Federation. “The first military-transport aircraft with eight injured servicemen will be sent to Moscow from Omsk in the coming minutes”, he stressed.

A section of the four-story barracks of the Airborne Troops training center in the Omsk region in Siberia collapsed on July 12.
The Russian Defense Ministry said the bodies of 23 missing people had been found under the debris by late morning and called off the search.
The rescuers continue searching for 10 servicemen, according to the spokesperson.
According to the defence military the 242nd training centre where the accident occurred prepares junior specialists in the army, including drivers and mechanics for armoured infantry vehicles.
A criminal case has been launched on three items of Article “Negligence” of the Russian Criminal Code.
Civilian medical crews are also heading to the scene from Moscow to assist the local military medics with rescue and treatment efforts.
