Robert Kirkman talks The Walking Dead at NYC Comic Con
“The Walking Dead” director Greg Nicotero also hinted about the 90-minute Season 6 premiere in a recent interview when he said that the show will open right in the middle of the heightened action sequence during the Season 5 finale.
The Walking Dead creator Robert Kirkman sure does like Destiny. “The people of Alexandria aren’t quite as prepared for this world as Rick and his crew are”. The introduction of Negan could possibly presage the death of one beloved character, former pizza delivery boy Glenn (played by Steve Yeun), but the show has already established itself as a very different beast from the comics.
The Walking Dead has been running for five years. He seems to have been following the tracks of Rick’s group because after their adventure in the Terminus, Morgan was able to encounter the Wolves, and then subsequently helping Daryl and Aaron escape a bunch of walkers while they were trapped in a vehicle.
“This is going to be the most intense season of The Walking Dead yet”.
Eclipsing just about every other event at this weekend’s four-day New York Comic Con, AMC flew out the cast and virtually the entire crew from the Georgia set of the hit zombie series for the first premiere in the history of the venerable arena. Robert Kirkman tells us “Can’t answer that, anyone like to see that?” And they get murked in all kinds of neat ways.
“It’s pretty bad”, Kirkman said sarcastically. While readers likely want to see the members of the Hilltop Colony and the characters that come with it, what the inclusion of new communities really does is introduce the villain Negan.
The spinoff show “Fear the Walking Dead” is less about the zombie apocalypse and more about a dysfunctional family brought together in the face of danger.
“I would say decapitation, but that’s not all of it”, says Kirkman, who added “Norman is such a jerk”. Everyone loves you enough.
The Walking Dead season 6 premiere is a monstrous 90 minute episode which will air Sunday, October 11, 2015 at 9:00pm ET/PT, on AMC.
