Nick Chubb helped off with left knee injury
Behind LSU’s Leonard Fournette, there has perhaps been no running back this season as impressive as Georgia’s Nick Chubb.
Georgia Bulldogs running back Nick Chubb will not return after suffering a gruesome knee injury against the Tennessee Volunteers on Saturday afternoon, according to UGA Athletics’ twitter account. The video of the injury is just brutal, as you can see Chubb’s knee buckle then completely invert the wrong direction – an image not for the squeamish or faint of heart. Players and coaches on the Georgia sideline were going up to Chubb as he was crying and praying with him as doctors examined his leg.
One of the nation’s best running backs, Chubb had 91 carries for 745 yards and seven touchdowns through the first five games, entering Saturday with a streak of 13 straight 100-yard rushing games.
It’s pretty tough to watch, and Chubb was really upset on the sideline as the training staff checked him out. He was second in the SEC in rushing at 127.3 yards per game.
Worst season of injuries ever? On that day, both Marshall and receiver Justin Scott-Wesley tore their anterior cruciate ligaments. WARNING: It is graphic.
