“X-Men: Apocalypse” Synopsis Reveals Villain’s Motivations, Plans
Fans of the “X-Men” franchise have been speculating about the plot of the upcoming film “X-Men: Apocalypse“, with a few drawing conclusions based on the popular Marvel comics’ stories. It’s not a full synopsis with spoilers or anything, but if you’re trying to preserve yourself from finding out any details, consider yourself warned now.
The press release says, “Since the dawn of civilization, he was worshiped as a god”.
It is now up to Professor Charles Xavier (James McAvoy) and his X-Men to team up with a few of his deadliest foes to defeat this new threat as the fate of the Earth hangs in the balance. He’s always unhappy about something, isn’t he?
But that has nothing to do with X-Men: Apocalypse, which is in the can and heading towards its May 2016 release date.
There’s a lot to unpack there – not least of all the confirmation that Apocalypse will be the first mutant in the movie version of the X-Men mythology, and that Magneto will continue not to learn from his mistakes when it comes to choosing evil over good every single movie. It looks like Professor X will be forced to once again team up with Magneto (Michael Fassbender) and Raven (Jennifer Lawrence) to save the world.
The film will be the ninth in the X-Men series – including The Wolverine – and is the third in the prequel series. Collider adds that although Professor X is involved, the synopsis suggests that his involvement might be that of a mentor.
Regardless, this is one of many big changes we could see occur as a result of the altered timeline from the end of Days of Future Past.
