Sher Fertility Institute’s powerful image of baby surrounded by syringes shows
The baby girl is pictured sleeping in the middle of the heart-shaped arrangement of syringes used during her mother’s IVF treatments, in the image shared by fertility clinic chain Sher Institutes on Facebook Tuesday.
The photo has especially struck a chord with other women who underwent in vitro fertilization (IVF), many of whom shared their own stories and family photographs in the comments of the post.
A Facebook photo of a baby surrounded by a heart shape of syringes has melted the hearts of social media users, Mashable reports. She went through five rounds of IVF over about a year and a half, but she says she remained hopeful that one day she’d have a handsome baby out of all the struggle.
Sher Institutes, has already had thousands of views on this image that was shared on October 5th on their Facebook page. It “shows the love that went into making this gorgeous new baby girl”, the mother, Angela said in the caption of the picture.
According to Angela’s doctor, Molina Dayal, the picture does not even show all the fertility treatment drugs used to conceive.
“My brother Shawn is a photographer, and has always inspired me to look at ways to tell a story with one picture”, she told the Daily Dot in an email. “I did IVF 4 times”.
“It’s hard to explain what IVF is like in words but this photo captures the experience”, Stark says.
Lisa Stark, director of communications at Sher Fertility Institute, told ABC News: “We have never seen a photo create such a stir in the infertility world”.
It took Angela a total of three years to get pregnant. We finally were successful with twin boys and I’ve never been happier!’ wrote Sara Husson.
The photo has sparked an outpouring of heartfelt messages from other parents who have conceived through IVF. So worth every shot and 2 hour trips each way to Bennett Fertility Clinic in OKC to get her here.
