Fleetwood v Coventry: Team News
In February this year he had a loan spell with Crawley Town and played ten times and joined Fleetwood on a months loan in September where he’s made three appearance helping them to a win in the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy over Shrewsbury mid-week.
Pressley will certainly be without striker Declan McManus and right back Conor McLaughlin who are both away on global duty for Scotland Under-21s and Northern Ireland respectively.
The likes of Reda Johnson, Chris Stokes and Romain Vincelot are all expected to return to Mowbray’s starting line-up.
Hugely impressive against Shrewsbury last week, allowing City’s attacking midfielders to play off him, can he repeat the feat in a slightly different context as it is likely to be Jim O’Brien and Ruben Lameiras playing behind alongside Jacob Murphy. Fleetwood sit 23rd in the table with just nine points from their opening 11 games, and haven’t won in seven outings – losing in the last four. With that in mind, an away win looks a likely result tomorrow however recently, Coventry have struggled on the road and have suffered 2 narrow defeats on the spin against Bury and Scunthorpe.
Steven Pressley is pleased with what he’s seen of Fleetwood Town and believes he has the materials to craft a winning side.
Steven Pressley has spoken highly of his former club Coventry ahead of this weekend’s meeting with his new team Fleetwood. As well as finding it hard to break the Cod Army down, the Sky Blues were guilty of too many stray passes on the carpet-like surface which added to the early first half frustration. I’m expecting a tough game as they’ve recruited a number of players since I’ve left, so the team has changed considerably.
“We showed good mobility and a threat beyond that”.
With Steven Pressley’s arrival, the match has taken on an even greater importance.
“Winning breeds confidence and confidence breeds better performances”.
Town’s new manager has a clear vision of the way he wants his side to play and has already begun working on how he can adapt his squad.
