It’s been a tough time for Joan Rivers as she was suffering from medically induced coma. Sources conversant with the matter revealed to the Us Weekly regarding sufferings of the popular Joan Rivers. Doctors started bringing her out of the induced coma on August 31, Sunday.
The well-acclaimed comedian, aged 81 years, was taken to the Mount Sinai Hospital and was put into induced coma as she stopped breathing. Her breathing stopped during a throat process on August 28, Thursday. An agent informed the Us Weekly that everybody was shocked by such a tragedy incident. The source told the Fashion Police host’s mood was upbeat in the night prior to her hospitalization. The insider also added that “She’s a strong woman, people aren’t giving up hope, but it’s very serious right now.”
On August 31, Sunday, the daughter of Joan Rivers, Melissa Rivers declared in a statement stating that they are keeping their fingers crossed. A source revealed to the NY Daily News that “The waking-up process has begun and will take until Tuesday,” Also, the insider added that there has been a genuine concern that the section of her brain controlling the motor skills might have suffered, restricting her to a wheelchair or a vegetable.
Melissa, after rushing to her mother’s side, stated over a statement on Friday that her mom would be overwhelmed with the prayers and tributes that so many people across the world have extended to her. Her condition is still serious, but she is getting the best care and treatment. Her statement read, “My mother would be so touched by the tributes and prayers that we have received from around the world. Her condition remains serious but she is receiving the best treatment and care possible. We ask that you continue to keep her in your thoughts as we pray for her recovery.”
