HTC’s One A9 dummy look leaks; shows an iPhone copy
HTC is one of the first smartphone manufacturers to announce when the latest Android update will be arriving for their devices after Google officially released the Android 6.0 Marshmallow recently. Recognition is important, and we don’t doubt that the upcoming One A9 is going to immediately attract the attention of those who are already acquainted with HTC and know how the company producers their phones in general.
A Snapdragon 617 processor will probably sit underneath the hood of the phone, featuring an octa-core CPU with Adreno 405 GPU and 2GB of RAM.
However, we still have hopes that the One A9 is in the pipeline and will be unveiled soon. HTC will throw in 16GB of build-in storage, but luckily there’s a microSD card slot for memory expansion. Seeing as the HTC One M8 is the 2014 flagship from the company, it will most likely come second after this year’s flagship family (HTC One M9) will have been updated. The device is also set to come with a 13MP rear camera, a 4MP front facing camera (which utilizes HTC’s UltraPixel technology) and a relatively small capacity battery, at 2,150 mAh. HTC also shared an image which listed the devices that they are planning to update to Android 6.0 Marshmallow.
The device pictured is merely a “dummy” unit for display use in AT&T stores, but the photos definitely tell us enough to confirm that the One A9 is following in the footsteps of the iPhone 6. It remains to be seen if HTC have replicated the separate amplifiers for the rear speaker(s) as their BoomSound technology includes, or if the One A9 simply has a speaker(s) assembly at the bottom of the device.
HTC will be hosting a media event on October 20, so we have to assume the One A9 is finally slated for release during that date.
This has become a bit of a staple in their designs and most people familiar with their phones can usually recognize them easily compared to devices by competitors, which has resulted in a lot of popularity for HTC on the market.
