Dead, 1 Wounded in Texas Southern University Shooting

Texas Southern University’s president says students need to be more vigilant following a fatal shooting at a student housing complex.
According to the Associated Press, TSU President John Rudley said students need to remember that “crime is all around us”.
The university said it would increase police on campus.
TSU officials said Alexandra Nicks and LaKeytric Quinn were wounded in the shooting.
Two suspects were taken into custody, but another one got away. Students have been ordered to remain in their classes; staffers have been asked to stay in their offices.
Ms Fowls said she had a three-year-old son and would not feel safe walking with him on campus. “She escaped being hit by the shooter as she ran”, the post said.
Meanwhile, one of three Northern Arizona University fraternity members shot and wounded by a fellow student has been released from the hospital.
A Houston Police Department spokesperson told the AP that the other victim was hospitalized, but in stable condition.
It was not the first violence at Texas Southern this week.
Texas Southern University is home to 10,000 students and is located in Houston, Texas.
A university spokesman said the shooting was reported today at 11:30 a.m.at the University Courtyard Apartments.
The school, with about 9,700 students, was placed on lockdown for several hours after the shooting and all classes were canceled on Friday.
Police say the shooting erupted in a confrontation between two student groups.
The incident was the second shooting on campus in just 12 hours. On Tuesday night, one person was shot and wounded on campus. The shooter suspect remains at large. Police and emergency vehicles were at the scene, though no additional details were available.
