Ravens QB Flacco won’t need to adjust without Smith, others
On the offensive side of the ball, the Ravens are without Steve Smith Sr. and will likely be touting out Kamar Aiken in his place on Sunday.
Smith’s replacement was thought to be drafted in the first round of the 2015 NFL Draft, as the Ravens selected Breshad Perriman.
Flacco has plenty of faith in Aiken and Brown, even though the duo has a combined 116 catches compared to 944 for Smith.
The last remaining WR is rookie Darren Waller. A win is also critical to keep the Ravens’ playoff hopes alive.
“We just had a little more room for different reasons”, coach John Harbaugh said. “It always a tight, hard-fought game”. “Short yardage, to us, would be third-and-1, third-and-2, third-and-3, and we’ve gotten a lot of those opportunities”. It’s two teams fighting for their lives right now.
“He’s leading the league in yards per catch, big play threat both on offense and special teams”, Harbaugh said.
Several of the Browns coaches and players are very familiar with the opposition and how they operate. It turned out he was available due to the circumstances in St. Louis, and (general manager and executive vice president) Ozzie (Newsome) made the trade, so we’re excited. “It’ll depend on him and the way perfectly he can get to know what actually we’re doing”.
Tight end Crockett Gillmore and defensive end Chris Canty have both been ruled out because of calf injuries.
“When you have Steve as a target, that’s part of how you’re calling plays certainly”, Trestman said. Gillmore, however, was held out of practice on Wednesday. The Browns haven’t won in Baltimore since 2001, which is pretty wonderful. Nonetheless, Harbaugh is not taking anything for granted. “I haven’t forgot. He hasn’t forgot”, Brown said. “That’s why I feel so confident that we will be fine”. Ravens lead the series, 24-8.
Compared to the Ravens, the Browns have a record of 2-2 ATS and 1-3 SU.
The Cleveland Browns and Baltimore Ravens establish off Sunday at M&T Bank Stadium. This is Browns’ first AFC North game, Baltimore’s third…. The Browns will need Solomon against a good Ravens rushing attack led by Justin Forsett. Browns QB Josh McCown went 32 for 41 for 356 yards last week, his 11th career 300-yard game and second in row.
In addition to the struggles of Haden, the Browns have been poor in stopping the run.
Gipson is also one of Cleveland’s best defenders in coverage, as evidenced by his 10 interceptions in his last 18 games. While Thomas might be able to block Dumervil one-on-one, it could free up space for Ravens inside linebacker C.J. Mosley to pick up the pressure.

Here’s a look at what kind of game plan the Ravens should have to get this win.
He responded to a question about how his franchise’s “winning culture” enabled his team to overcome a 20-7 deficit in Heinz Field last Thursday night and beat the Pittsburgh Steelers in overtime, 23-20, to avoid a disastrous 0-4 start to the season.
