Yasin Malik dares Mufti, Omar to face him in private election
“If these people are so sure about Kashmiris choosing India they should have no objection”, a statement issued from Party to CNS read.
Addressing the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly, Sayeed said: “I have said it earlier as well”.
Former chief minister Omar Abdullah moved the resolution for communal harmony and antiextremism, which was supported by Sayeed and later passed by the house.
Reacting sharply to Udhampur incident, in which a few fanatic elements hurled a petrol bomb on a Kashmir-bound truck, injuring two men, senior Hurriyat (M) leader and Chairman JKLF (H) Javaid Ahmad Mir today said, need of the hour is to show strong resistance against communal forces. “There is no place for extremists, hate-mongers in a civilised society”. He asked for sending across a clear message of peace and communal harmony from the House which, he insisted, was one of the most powerful institutions in the country.
“We are on the crossroads of history and have to again become torch-bearers of secularism, pluralism and tolerance in the country”, Mr. Sayeed said.
However, he also appealed people to foil the attempts of the communal forces trying to divide people of the state on religious lines.
“When Mohammad Ali Jinnah came to Kashmir, the whole of state stood up and conveyed to him that our path was different”, he said’.
The Chief Minister said Jammu and Kashmir gave a “shield of secularism to India and there was no reason we should be distancing ourselves from it”. “The unity and integrity of India will be shaken if its people fight in the name of religion”. “Muslims of the country can not be ignored”. Geelani Sahab said that the elimination of the entire minorities particularly Muslims in India is the prime agenda of the RSS and its allied parties and this time they have got their favorable government for that work.
