Southwest Airlines experiencing “technology issues”
LOS ANGELES Southwest Airlines passengers were in a long line at Los Angeles worldwide Airport Sunday, as a nationwide computer failure forced agents to issue handwritten tickets for all departing flights.
LAX police tweeted a photo of the long lines at the Southwest Airlines ticket counter. Fox 4 reached out to Southwest Airlines management.
Southwest Airlines said about 100 flights (out of 3,600) across the country had been impacted by short delays by 9 a.m. MDT.
The company warned fliers to arrive “at least two hours prior to their scheduled departures to help minimize delays”, spokeswoman Michelle Agnew said in a statement.
“We apologize for this morning’s technical issues”.
Officials for the airline are working to determine a cause for the issue. “We are working to restore service to our Customers, and we appreciate your patience”.
