Garda believed to have been shot in Omeath
The man and the garda died from their wounds while the woman is in serious condition in hospital.
It’s understood the shooting occurred at approximately 6pm this evening.

Members of the Gardai were believed to be responding to a domestic incident at the time of the shootings.
The deceased garda, Tony Golden, a married father of three, had gone to the house just before 6.30pm. The woman was taken from the property seriously wounded.
The gunman shot the officer and a woman, believed to be his partner, before taking his own life by turning the gun on himself.
The shootings are believed to have occurred around 6pm.
The officer was a member of the Irish police force known as the “Garda”.
A security cordon was set up at the egde of the estate with local residents asked to remain in their homes as investigating officers prepared to conduct door to door inquiries.
Dermot O’Brien – president of the Garda Representative Association – said: “This terrible, awful news is the deepest fear of every police family”.
The incident happened near where Detective Garda Adrian Donohoe was fatally shot in January 2013.
“At this time of distress, the garda family will be doing everything possible to support the late garda’s relatives and loved ones, friends and colleagues”.
She also said the fatal shooting highlights the dangers the gardaí face during the course of their duty and that they put themselves in harm’s way every day in the interest of serving the community.
“Ar dheis láimh Dé go raibh a anam”.
Sinn Fein president Gerry Adams – who represents the Louth constituency – said he was “shocked” at the news.
