Apple said to be making in-house music videos for Music artists
The new music streaming service from Apple is set to release the UK-based artiste’s “Matahdatah Scroll 01 Broader Than A Border” in a few days from now. The new move to develop in-house videos for trending music artists in the music industry will serve to expand the attractiveness of Apple Music, which charges users $9.99/month after a three-month free trial period. “The company made Drake’s incredible “Energy” video in-house, as well as Pharrell’s “Freedom” and Eminem’s “Phenomenal””.
We already knew these videos were exclusive to Apple Music.
In addition to Beats 1 radio, the Connect social network, and music streaming, “Apple have also started creating their own original content”, reports Pitchfork. A’s “Matahdatah Scroll 01 Broader Than a Border” is a two-song release by the artiste and is accompanied by a short movie that features music from the rapper’s impending album. A new report claims that the company is even producing music videos in-house for some of the biggest artists so that the videos are offered as Apple Music exclusives. Apparently when they contacted Apple Music head of content Larry Jackson about the story, he responded with a tweet that simply said “Oh ok” – a dig at Spotify CEO Daniel Elk, who tweeted those same words when Apple’s streaming music service was announced at WWDC in June – along with hashtags for “Content”, “Culture”, and “Curation”. It is rumored that Apple is also planning on helping other artists with their video launches as a “compensation” for their help with Apple Music’s launch; including Diddy, James Bay, and Purity Ring.
