Details on Phase 3 of Marvel’s Cinematic Universe Begin to Surface
Marvel Studios has announced an Ant-Man sequel will be reaching cinemas in July 2018.
Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) will return alongside Hope Van Dyne (Evangeline Lilly) on July 6, 2018, with Marvel’s Ant-Man and the Wasp. It is part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Phase Three and is considered the eighth installment in the current lineup of MCU’s films.
The superhero phase of Paul Rudd’s career may live to see another movie. Black Panther has now been moved to February 16, 2016, while the Captain Marvel movie is now aiming for a March 8, 2019 release date. The studio said that because they will accommodate “Ant-Man and The Wasp” in their schedule, other movies will essentially be reshuffled.
On Thursday, Marvel has announced that “Ant-Man and the Wasp” is scheduled to come out on July 6, 2018. The first post-credits scene in Ant-Man had Hope being bestowed by her father Hank (Michael Douglas) with an updated version of the Wasp suit once worn by her late mother Janet.
Black Panther will tell the story of the first black superhero in mainstream American comics with superhumanly acute senses, increase strength, speed, stamina, reflexes, and agility to Olympic-levels, the star of the movie will be actor Chadwick Boseman. It only barely passed the first Captain America film to be the third lowest grossing Marvel movie ever. In 2017, Marvel plans to release Guardians of the Galaxy 2, a new reboot of Spider-Man, and Thor: Ragnarok in November, which has been pushed back from its initial July release.
In any case, Marvel will now cap the decade with Captain Marvel, Infinity War – Part 2 and Inhumans in 2019, presumably putting an end to Phase 3.
