Facebook banned the phrase ‘Everyone Will Know’ temporarily!
Apparently, Facebook briefly blocked the phrase “everyone will know” for more than a day; users attempting to write on the platform these seemingly innocent words are now once again able to do so. The identical three phrases typed are blocked when typed in facebook messenger.
Facebook’s spam detection system were erroneously detecting the words “Everyone Will Know” as spam. She went on to explain that the spam-fighting engine is being constantly updated, which sometimes can lead to particular phrases like this to get caught in the mix. However, the issue seems to be resolved now. Ensign, however, couldn’t pinpoint exactly for how long had the phrase been banned.
Two days ago, someone asked on Question.com, “Why can’t you post “everyone will know” on Facebook?” “If you try to post it multiple times it will block you from posting any status”.
On Sunday, a Reddit post was filled with comments wherein people claimed that they were unable to post the phrase as a status or in a comment.
Before Facebook corrected the problem, Huffington Post tried posting “Everyone will know” by themselves.
Upon entering the phrase, netizens were given a message saying that the message has been blocked. “One more message being prompted with the aid of the ‘everyone will know indicated that the action could have violated the fb TOS, and it states that”, Failed to like post the action attempted has been deemed abusive or is otherwise disallowed.
While there’s surely a logical explanation for the apparent “everyone will know” ban, something about this leaves us with a deeply spooky feeling. This assumption has brought forth hypothesis that maybe, there’s a master record of banned words and phrases that exists.
