Former Louisville recruit JaQuan Lyle confirms ‘the gist’ of escort
Last week a book came out called “Breaking Cardinal Rules: Basketball and the Escort Queen” that sheds light on a few recruiting violations made back in 2013 involving paid escorts being used to help convince recruits to come to the school. The foundation does fundraising for the university. Powell claimed that Pitino did but offered no proof beyond her recollection of a conversation with McGee. A hardcover version of the 104-page book is scheduled for release on Monday. “Chuck advised us that we should also report these allegations to the NCAA so they could join our investigation”.
“If I resign, would people feel better about it?”
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) – The NCAA has talked with Ohio State freshman JaQuan Lyle, whose recruitment by Louisville is mentioned in a book by an escort alleging that strippers danced and had sex with Cardinals players and prospects. According to the book, Andre McGee, a former staffer was the point person for the arrangements. He subsequently planned to play at Oregon but ultimately landed at Ohio State.
McGee denied the allegations through his attorney.
IBJ Book Publishing Publisher Patricia Keiffner admitted to feeling a sense of relief upon reading the CBS story Thursday morning. Head coach Rick Pitino has denied any knowledge of these allegations but he could be on the hook here as this all falls under his watch. The coach said he was still trying to understand the motive behind McGee’s alleged actions and said that Louisville didn’t need to hire dancers to attract top-flight recruits to his elite program.
“For the past 18 years, Tom Jurich has served as Athletic Director of an exemplary program at UofL”.
“It does not affect us or JaQuan at all”, Wallenberg told Yahoo! “The investigation of the allegations may take time and we must, as one university, continue doing the work we do to move our university and our community forward”.
