Photo of stranger’s act of kindness toward special-needs man goes viral
– An young man’s small act of kindness has gone viral.
Cuotto explained to Huffington Post Canada that he was travelling home from a burrito restaurant when the man sitting next to him on the bus reached out to shake his hand: “He kept holding my hand”.
The man, who asked Cuotto for a handshake, is named Robert, and he additionally suffers from cerebral palsy.
Another passenger on the bus photographed the pair and shared the image to the ‘Only In Hamilton’ Facebook page, expressing their gratitude to Mr Coutto for his selfless act, saying it made their day.
‘Sometimes you just have to be selfless and put someone else’s needs above yours’.
“He allowed him to hold his hand and find comfort well in a packed bus [sic]”.
He told Global News: ‘I was like “Yo, what’s going on?”
“It gives me so much joy to know there are still people put there who are kind and caring and willing to do what others may not want to do”, wrote commenter Tim Maddox. “May he run into many more people just like this true gentleman from Hamilton”, Susan Lyndon added.
Cuotto has been praised by social media users for being “a great human being.”
The man also leaned on him, hugged him and and kissed his hands until the end of his ride. You and your parents should be proud of your humanity!
Rob Campbell wrote: “This guy is a model for all humans!” It gets you nowhere.
After Mr Cuotto stayed on the bus until the final stop with Robert, a family member contacted the student to thank them for comforting their uncle.
I was raised by a queen.
