BJP slams AAP government over Asim sacking
“I will name everyone, even if its a councillor or a chief minister”, Khan said, as his supporters shouted anti-Arvind Kejriwal slogans. Janata Dal United leader KC Tyagi said that Kejriwal has shown path to PM Modi to sack his corrupt leaders.
After Arvind Kejriwal sacked him yesterday on live TV, Asim Khan made a decision to use the same medium to prove his innocence and counterattack the AAP.
Mr Khan had been accused of “nexus with a builder”, Mr Kejriwal said, playing an audio recording of what he said was part of a one-hour conversation between Mr Khan and the builder. The Ballimaran MLA did not take any question and left more questions than answers over his sudden removal.
“Prima facie it seems the matter is serious…We can not tolerate this”.
“I am sad to take this decision”, he said.
Kejriwal began his press conference by saying that the AAP was born from an anti-corruption movement. “There was a mediator between the MLA and the Minister”, the Chief Minister said. Forget social media, one can imagine the man on the street, the “aam aadmi”, as it were, marvelling at the Delhi chief minister’s dramatic step against a Cabinet colleague who had allegedly taken a bribe. Since the construction was stopeed the owner was asked to give bribe. Then law minister Jitender Singh Tomar was forced to resign in June after police arrested him on charges of faking his educational degree.
Delhi Congress chief Ajay Maken blamed Kejriwal for making “wrong choices”, highlighting that Khan was the second minister to get the boot in the past eight months of the AAP government. Other parties should also act against their accused members.
Kejriwal and Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia urged the legislators to think about the embarrassment to their families in case they were involved in any transgression.
