Georgia’s Chubb out for the year
Georgia’s loss to Tennessee and the injury to star running back Nick Chubb already dropped the Bulldogs, but the suspension of Florida quarterback Will Grier also leaves the Gators in a precarious spot facing a trip to No. 6 LSU (7 p.m. on ESPN).
On third down at about midfield, the Bulldogs made a decision to let Greyson Lambert air it out and Davis broke free deep and had nothing impeding his path to the end zone. The Georgia defense is allowing 21.7 points and 331.8 yards per game with six interceptions, nine sacks, and three fumble recoveries. Clemson’s defense held the Yellow Jackets to 71 yards rushing – its lowest total in coach Paul Johnson’s eight seasons. Tim Kimbrough is Georgia’s leading tackler with 44, Jake Ganus has 41, and Leonard Floyd has 33 tackles. Russell Hansbrough is back in action in the Tigers backfield averaging 5.0 yards per carry and Nate Brown has 18 receptions with four touchdowns and J’Mon Moore has 16 catches and two touchdowns.
The University of Georgia (UGA) stated in a news release Sunday that Chubb “suffered a significant left knee injury” during Saturday’s football game against Tennessee.
Chubb had rushed for at least 100 yards in a school-record 13 straight games.
National Basketball Association Hall of Famer John Stockton (celebrity picker): “I’ve no particular reason, but I’m gonna take Tennessee, just kind of as a flier”.
