Man United sign Schweinsteiger
Darmain and Schweinsteiger all had their medicals over the weekend before the club surprisingly announced the signing of French midfielder, Schniederlin.
And there was more good news for United as goalkeeper David de Gea was confirmed among their travelling party for their U.S. tour, seemingly ruling out any imminent move to Real Madrid.
He will now be part of the United squad which jets off on the club’s preseason tour of the US on Monday afternoon.
Schneiderlin has moved from fellow Premier League club Southampton for a fee in the region of £25m.
Schweinsteiger has agreed a three-year deal while 25-year-old Schneiderlin has signed for four years with the option of a further one-year extension. “That training camp will be very important in our preparations for the new season and gives Morgan and the other players a chance to show our fans what they can achieve together”.
He added: “I’m excited to be starting that journey on our trip to the USA”.
United has already signed Italy right back Matteo Darmian and Netherlands winger Memphis Depay this offseason.
“I am delighted to be a Manchester United player. Manchester United is the only club that I would have left Munich for”, said Schweinsteiger.
Schweinsteiger will provide United with experience and leadership in midfield and will be reunited with Van Gaal, who previously coached Bayern.
Bayern Munich chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge says Bastian Schweinsteiger is leaving the club for Manchester United.
France worldwide Morgan Schneiderlin and German World Cup victor Bastian Schweinsteiger have become Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal’s latest signings of the close season.
Schneiderlin’s future has been up in the air ever since he was quoted in the Daily Mail earlier in the summer as saying he wanted to leave Southampton to join a top four club competing in the Champions League.
