Over 450 Southwest flights delayed due to computer problems
Although no flights were cancelled, hundreds of flights were delayed due to problems with the airline’s mobile app Southwest.com, and its phone centers, published reports said.
At 6:45 a.m. today, Southwest said there were only a handful of delays this morning at Dallas Love Field.
“We thank our Employees for their tireless efforts to take care of our Customers, and we appreciate our Customers’ patience as we work towards a solution”.
Today, Southwest customers still may have to reschedule flights or see a few delayed luggage delivery.
Sunday’s outage created long lines at several airports, including major hubs like Los Angeles worldwide, where airport workers handed out water and provided shade canopies to travelers stuck in lines outside the terminal. Southwest said about 450 of the 3,600 flights scheduled for the day had been delayed.

Schultz said he didn’t understand why Southwest didn’t announce that people should print out their boarding passes at home before getting to the airport.
Passengers Monday barely noticed the airline was having computer problems.
The airline urged passengers to arrive at least two hours early Monday.
Southwest acknowledge the issue in a Monday morning statement.
Out of the 3600 daily flights in our schedule on Sunday, the airline operated with 75 percent ontime performance.
“Usually southwest is really on top of things”, passenger Delena Frank said. Industry consultants say the impact of computer disruptions will keep growing as airlines automate an increasing chunk of operations, outfit their planes with Wifi and distribute boarding passes on smartphones.
