Tornado strikes U.S. Mail tractor-trailer on Sunshine Skyway Bridge

The driver, 56-year-old Randall Leaver, of Wesley Chapel, remained in the truck and was not injured.

A semi-truck was twice flipped over after a funnel cloud touched down on a Florida bridge. It shows how the truck flipped over after the waterspout touched down on the bridge.

“It just started getting more intense, debris everywhere”, he told WTVT.

“The first thing I did when I got home was hug my son”, Leaver said.

In May of this year a waterspout transformed into a tornado and sent a city-sponsored inflatable bounce house flying into the air on Fort Lauderdale Beach.

Back in May, a waterspout lifted a bounce house off a Florida beach.

A waterspout is a tornado that occurs over water.

Three children were hurt when the ten-by-ten-foot roofless nylon bounce house broke loose from its plastic anchoring stakes because of strong winds.

Daily Mail reported on how waterspouts sightings are handled by the weather service following this incident.

“It was just like any regular day starting out”, said Robert Gudes, who was fishing in the bay when he saw the waterspout form.
