New Orleans Saints head coach Sean Payton late in the game against the Carolina Panthers during the game at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, N.C. Sunday, September 27, 2015. But a 1-3 start after last year’s 7-9 campaign, combined with significant roster turnover, suggest a hard road ahead. The Colts aren’t that bad, but they’re not as good as they ought to be.

Payton, 51, holds a 81-51 record in more than eight seasons with New Orleans.

There’s nothing to indicate Payton would entertain another offer.
Dolphins interim head coach Dan Campbell was promoted Monday after Miami fired Joe Philbin.
NFL Network’s Albert Breer reported following the disastrous 2012 “Bounty season” that Payton was being courted by the Dallas Cowboys as their new head coach.
Payton has a contract that runs through the 2017 season.
